Hailey Bieber Just Shared Her Skin-Care Routine for Perioral Dermatitis
If you haven’t heard lately, let me remind you: Celebrities are just like us! They love Rhodes Skincare and Justin Bieber and struggle with less-than-perfect skin. While these are universal traits, the best example that comes to mind here is Miss Hailey Rhodes Baldwin Bieber.
On March 28, the model shared a TikTok video in which she discussed her struggles with perioral dermatitis, an inflammatory skin condition that causes small red papules and/or pustules to appear around the mouth, chin, nose, or eyes. She’s spoken publicly about the issue in the past, but now she’s sharing what she uses to calm her skin during breakouts.
“This is something I’ve dealt with since I was 19 or 20, and I know a lot of other people are dealing with it or struggling with it,” she said in a voiceover as a close-up of her skin played. “I’m going through a pretty bad bout of illness right now, so I wanted to share with you guys what I use when I’m sick.”
At the start of the routine, Bieber mentioned that she uses prescription azelaic acid cream at night to reduce inflammation. During the day, she switches to topical clindamycin, a prescription antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth on the skin. (“So weird to see someone like Hailey Bieber also use clindamycin,” one fan wrote in the comments. “No one talks about it, but it’s life-changing.”)
“The only other thing I use when my perioral dermatitis flares up is our Rhodes Glaze Face Cream – it’s super gentle and helps soothe the skin,” she added. And sunscreen, of course.
Towards the end of the video, Bieber shows off what her skin looked like the day after her bout. Although she’s not completely flawless (skin is skin, and it never will be!), blemishes have faded, and the 27-year-old is glowing.
“Thank you for sharing this. Everyone thinks your skin is perfect, but perfection doesn’t exist,” another fan commented. ” while others chimed in to ask about the (hidden!) lip balm product in her phone case.
A fragile queen about to launch a brilliant new product? I think I’ve changed my mind: Celebrities!! They’re (mostly) just like us.
