We all know that to keep your skin healthy and fit, you should wash your face. By cleansing your skin, you protect it from overexposure to environmental factors like pollution and even makeup.



By maintaining a balanced skin care routine, you can fight signs of aging, blemishes, and uneven skin tone. But what is the best way to wash your face? Is it really important to wash your face correctly? We answer

How should I wash my face?




When we say “wash your face,” we don’t mean quickly splashing water on your face and walking out the door. No, it takes more time and effort to wash your face and get it really clean.



Using a face cleanser with skin-cleansing ingredients like glycolic acid can help you clean the deepest pores that may be clogged with makeup, dirt, and debris. It’s really just a matter of personal preference and what works best for you and your skin type. For example, if your evening routine includes the use of a rich, oily night cream, you might look forward to cleansing in the morning.



If you find that the first thing you notice is that your skin feels good and you love waking up to a splash of water, you can skip the twice-daily cleansing altogether.




Some dermatologists believe that the skin doesn’t need to be cleansed in the morning because skin aggressors have been cleared overnight and the skin barrier is fully functional and nourished.



No need to ruin it with a face wash, just add skin-loving ingredients like a complimentary morning serum and moisturizer. Is it better to wash your face once or twice a day? Studies show that most skin types benefit from a simplified skincare routine.




Just use a few carefully chosen products with quality ingredients like AHAs and antioxidants, and you can get your skin to its own balance, to be “self-sustaining” so to speak. While this won’t work for everyone, for most, it’s the key to healthy skin.



It really comes down to your personal preference. If you have an oily skin type, the desire for a “clean” feeling can be hard to resist. Therefore, washing your face twice a day can help keep your skin smooth and control excess oil production.




But be careful, as washing too frequently can completely strip the oils from your skin, which can lead to excessive oil production, which can then cause breakouts like pimples and blackheads.



How often should I wash my face if I have acne?
